Gondella Madrid, Spain A city-centre garden store: Verdecora Urban on López de Hoyos
On 5 September 2025, the Spanish garden and lifestyle chain Verdecora opened a new Urban store in Madrid, at 146 López de Hoyos Street in the Chamartín district. The Urban concept brings the chain's garden-centre offer to a compact urban format: just over 150 m², more than 300 plant references and a florist inside the store. That puts plants, care products and decorations on a neighbourhood shopping street.
Gondella built the store furniture: modular shelving systems, plant display tables, podiums, service counters and display units; a mix of standard modules and pieces designed for this floor plan.
This is the fourth store Verdecora and Gondella have built together, after two flower shops and an earlier Urban store in Madrid.
Gondella Modular shelving Modular systems and custom-made furniture in one store
The walls and the centre aisle carry Gondella's modular shelving and custom-made furniture in black steel with wooden shelves. Plants, terrariums and watering equipment stand side by side. In a store this size, the shelving has to hold more than 300 plant references; the modules can be reconfigured and extended as the assortment changes with the seasons.
Gondella Plant display tables & podiums Display tables and podiums for the plant offer
Wooden display tables and podiums show the assortment at different heights: herbs, vegetable plants, cacti and succulents. The furniture keeps the display dense and the walkway open, so the whole store stays visible from the street.
Gondella Counters & display units Service counters and mobile display units
Gondella completed the interior with service counters, including the florist and display area. Mobile outdoor carts extend the presentation onto the pavement and are wheeled in and out each day.
